DAY 180 - A Momentous Event

FOOD

Soujirou's Delphinus going-away meal. IT'S A LOT, but everything is made/served in proportion to Delphinus' eating habits. Also, you guys probably had a simple breakfast. THIS WAS LUNCH. We may not be able to eat at going away feast...

Milkweed shoots (similar to asparagus) wrapped in bacon
--blanched in boiling salt water
--drizzled with cooking oil
--wrapped in a strip of bacon, two to a bundle
--baked until bacon is crispy

Thick potato soup, garnished with hint of mint and bits of bacon
--ground grains, milk, thyme, bacon drippings all went into the making

served w/
--small roll of soft sourdough bread

Pot pie with flaky crust.
--crust is made with fatty-lizard lard and milk
--filling contains lake lizard meat, milkweed buds, onions, cabbage (sparingly, just the crunchy parts), and potato.

served w/
--boiled and lightly salted bamboo shoots
--onna blanched and lightly salted cabbage leaf
--drizzled with meat-juices + pepper
--simple to contrast

Bearbee tart
--filling is made of bearbee blood. Kind of a rich dessert.
--topped with a little bit of sweet carmalized bearbee meat, cubed very small, and fresh wallberries to balance out the heaviness.
--glazed! vodka went here (sparingly).
--drizzled with sauce made from berries, rose-scented geraniums, and sweetened slightly with the blood.
--some whole blossoms were also used to decorate.

served w/
--tea
