MEMORY #7: Teaching Allen how to bake; stupidly huge mitarashi dango cake
WHAT IT WAS: OKAY, unless I dreamed this conversation I'm pretty sure Boxy worked out the details of how this went with me but I can't seem to find the log anywhere SO feel free to add/correct/modify anything I say.
BASICALLY, Allen had a particularly bad mission and was looking for something to distract himself with, and decided to ask Link to bake him something. Link says he's not doing all the work by himself, so Allen agrees he wants to learn how to bake, just to try to keep his mind off things. He sucks at it though and keeps wanting to change stuff and also eating things before they were done and add dango to it and after lots of yelling (and teasing from Allen) Link is all \o/ Fine! We'll improvise a recipe! So they made a ridiculously huge cake decorated with mitarashi dango, and I bet Allen kept stealing off the cake while Link was putting finishing touches on it (like icing flourishes and stuff) and he had to smack Allen and replace them but CAKE WAS HAD IN THE END. It was huge and possibly lopsided in some places but it didn't taste bad and Allen was cheered up at the end so all in all, good memory.
WHAT HE LEARNED:
- the recipe for mitarashi dango and sweet soysauce dressing
- more baking basics
- he was in super-denial about feeling friendly towards Allen
- :|a lived with Allen for a while, months?
