[Misc] Serious thoughts
OKAY. It's not a secret that my favorite thing ever about Link is his stupid hair, right? Right...
So in this following post I will be explaining just what makes it SO SPECIAL TO ME. o/
Okay guys. This is Link. I think we can all agree his hair is a little weird. I mean, it's essentially a bowl-cut with a braid stuck on the back.
However, DESPITE HOW WEIRD IT LOOKS UPON FIRST GLANCE, there is a very good reason he has this haircut.
Because... :|b it is for self-defense.
Now, personally I think Link is a very good-looking young man. His features are a little sharp and severe but they're still pretty attractive. But you know, with his personality, these things are probably not good for his survival. So basically, his bangs are designed to distract you from that! They cut off sharply and frame two of his oddest features, which are the dots and his eyebrows. Really, upon first meeting him you aren't thinking "oh, he has nice eyelashes," you're going "what is up with his forehead?"
If his hair is for self defense, though, why didn't he just go for an actual bowl cut? The reason is that a haircut like this would just stand out too much from the back. Normally, if you approach Link from behind there's actually nothing too special going on, just a normal braid, which helps him blend in.
But ultimately the goal is to decrease his attractiveness a little, right? Even if he doesn't blend in, does it matter as long as we're too distracted by his hair to notice? Well, honestly, I think even if he had hair like this or like this, it just doesn't have the same framing effect as the haircut he came with. I mean sure it's shocking at first, but it still wouldn't take as long just accept. You just give up questioning at that point. The haircut Link comes with keeps you busy thinking :|b.
But why not just be normal if his hair is still going to make people stare? Well, check it out.
Would it even occur to you to question his attractiveness if he had normal bangs? Better to be stared at for stupid hair than because someone's thinking naughty thoughts :|b.

The thought strikes is his design, with slightly modified bangs, is also very similar to Ushiwaka from Okami, which just makes it funnier, for me. :(b

Link... is... so hot. I love your drawings. Thing is, if he let his hair down, it wouldn't look so bowl-like! There are plenty of guys with straight-cut bangs and long hair~
